Vocation: Interviewing Someone Further Down a Path
The idea: Having students interview someone whose life resonates with their own vocation and/or career is a great way to open up conversations about the planned and the unplanned, work/life balance, the search
for a meaningful life, etc. It's also a great approach to reducing anxiety that we are supposed to have everything figured it out and effectively planned at any given moment of life.
Time needed: 20-30 minutes for the interview; 15-20 minutes for prep; time for reflection (as a group or
through an individual or partner reflection paper)
Resources needed: Depending on the students, you may need to help make some matches with interviewees. Consider asking your departmental colleagues, the Alumni Office or the Career Center for assistance.

Suitable for: Any size
Further exploration: Try a second interview later in the semester.
