Transition
Does it seem like just yesterday you were tossing a beanie...and now you're donning a mortar board? Graduating from college is part of a major transition.
FREAKING OUT?!
Whether you're in the midst of graduation or another transition...you may feel overwhelmed. On Concordia's campus you can find a network of support. Consider talking with someone at the Counseling Center or one of the Campus Pastors. RAs and the professional staff of Residence Life along with Peer Mentors can be very helpful when feeling overwhelmed. And, of course, you have your ongoing relationships with mentors, supervisors, your faculty advisor and all those with whom you share big conversations. You are not alone. (And, no, everyone else does not have it all figured out!)
Career Transition?
Looking for resources as you transition into a career? Along with scheduling another visit with Concordia's Career Center, check out blogger Katharine Brooks. Listening to the lifeStories of others can also be a great resource. Check out the interviews of Roadtrip Nation as recent college grads cross the country interviewing people whose lives interest them.
Additional Resources:
TBD Retreat, a one-day retreat that includes questions and activities that work outside of the retreat, itself;
What Now? by Ann Patchett, based on her Sarah Lawrence College commencement address;
Let Your Life Speak by Parker Palmer, a classic vocation text by a man who shares his own struggles frankly;
and The Impossible Will Take a Little While, a citizen's guide to hope in a time of fear.
